Song One
Riding the Wind

Song History
I believe every boy is born with a need for adventure…but not many boys these days have a dad who knows how to help the boy learn to be a man…to walk in his true destiny. This song came as I thought about how my dad set me up for adventure – by teaching me to ride when I was about four years old…and then getting me my very own horse! When I was a boy, information pills I read many books about adventure, from Jack London’s Call of the Wild to all the Marguerite Henry books about horses, a couple of my favorites being Misty of Chincoteague and King of the Wind. As I was growing up, I had the privilege of having several horses, my favorite being named Sugar. Sugar and I were pretty inseparable – especially during the summer – when we would ride literally all over the countryside, exploring and playing cowboys and Indians! Life was very difficult for me – growing up was hard. For several reasons, I did not learn how to be a man until later in life…and I want other boys to know better than I how to make the transition from boy to man. As you listen to this song, let it spur you ahead to look at what kind of man you would like to become.
Dennis Jernigan
Verse
Little boy lost
Little boy alone
Little boy gone far from home
Little boy journey
Just what will he see?
And when he finally gets there what will he be?
Chorus
He’s becoming the man he always dreamed he would be!
No longer bound by the world, his eyes are opened to see!
To see and believe his destiny!
This adventure is calling to the boy, “Come and see!”
Come fight the battles of men
That set the little boy free to see and believe his destiny!
And he goes riding the wind in the name of the King!
It will take him as far as he can dream!
And he goes riding the wind and the wind calls his name, “Son, come be free!”
Once he goes riding the wind the boy is no longer seen
For he’s becoming the man he’s called to be!
Son, come riding the wind!
Riding the wind of destiny!
Verse Two
Little boy captured
Prisoner of the world
Deep into the darkness he is hurled
Fighting for his honor
Fighting for his life
Fighting for the Kingdom through the night!
Chorus
He’s becoming the man he always dreamed he would be!
No longer bound by the world, his eyes are opened to see!
To see and believe his destiny!
This adventure is calling to the boy, “Come and see!”
Come fight the battles of men
That set the little boy free to see and believe his destiny!

Song Two
Warrior
Words & Music: Dennis Jernigan
April 9, and 2012
Song History
Just as every by longs for adventure, I believe every boy sees himself as somewhat of a warrior. We can either war for what is right or we can fight for selfish gain. A true warrior is always willing to lay down his life for those and that which he loves. When I was a boy, it seemed I got teased a lot and bullied a lot and had to fight a lot. Not fun…but rather than allowing those trials to beat me down, I chose to allow them to make me stronger by having a Kingdom point of view. Just because something bad happens to me does not mean I have to live with a defeated attitude. I learned to see even those times of being bullied as a way of training myself to live my life. A real man – a warrior – does not fight to serve himself. He fights to defend those who cannot defend themselves. He fights for what is right and honorable and always seeks restoration rather than destruction. As you listen to this song, imagine what you would want others to see your warrior heart as – one who fights for what is right or one who fights to serve only himself? Learn to be a man of honor, son.
Dennis Jernigan
Verse
He’s a warrior in the Kingdom!
That’s what they told him since he was a boy!
He’s a warrior in the Kingdom!
And that to lay down his life would be his honor and joy!
His honor and joy!
He’s a warrior in the Kingdom!
And now the darkness is come but will he know what to do?
He’s a warrior in the Kingdom!
Though he may be just a boy, the man inside’s coming through!
Heart of a man breaking through!
And now the fight has come to him!
It’s up to him to sink or swim!
And now the fight has come to him!
But does he know that deep inside that he is destined to win?
Chorus
Ride! Boy, ride into the fight!
Ride! Boy, ride with all your might!
Ride! Boy, ride with the heart of a warrior!
Ride! Boy, ride for what is right!
Ride! Boy, laying down your life!
Ride! Boy, ride with the heart of a warrior!
Verse
He’s a warrior in the Kingdom!
And now his friend is in need!
In need of one to defend!
He’s a warrior in the Kingdom!
And what is love if not laying down one’s life for a friend?
His life for a friend!
He’s a warrior in the Kingdom!
And now he takes up his sword not knowing what he might see!
He’s a warrior in the Kingdom!
And whether knowing or not, he rides into destiny!
Right into his destiny!
Bridge
He’d go through darkness!
He’d go through flame!
He knows that his friend would do the same!
Though others see him as just a boy
He rides with honor!
He rides with joy for his friend!
For the Kingdom!
In the name of the King and for his friend!
Chorus
Ride! Boy, ride into the fight!
Ride! Boy, ride with all your might!
Ride! Boy, ride with the heart of a warrior!
Ride! Boy, ride for what is right!
Ride! Boy, laying down your life!

Ride! Boy, ride with the heart of a warrior!

Song Three
Song to Arolis
Words & Music: Dennis Jernigan
April 12, and 2012
Song History
As a boy, steroids I spent so much time on my horse, visit this exploring and enjoying the countryside. I went swimming with my horse and fishing with my horse. I ran races on my horse and I drove cattle on my horse. Every Saturday for years I rode my horse to town picking up pop bottles along the way to sell…and always had enough to buy a burger by the time I got to town! My horse would tolerate four people on his back and I could do all kinds of tricks on him, my favorite being mounting him in a run from behind, placing my hands on his rump as I jumped. He never budged because he trusted me and I trusted him. All those memories and so much more flooded into my mind as I wrote the character of Arolis and wrote this song. On a horse, a boy can become a warrior and an explorer and a hero and ride with the wind all at once. As you listen to this song, dream about what you will one day do in and with your life…and dream big.
Dennis Jernigan
Verse
Can you hear me?
I am but of man.
Can someone like you ever understand?
Yet I can hear you when you think my name.
Horse and boy, two wild hearts never tamed!
Chorus
Arolis, I trust you with my heart and soul!
I trust you, my friend!
Arolis, I trust you with my very life!
Let us ride and conquer the wind! wind!
In the name of the King and in the name of the realm,
Let us fly! Let us fly! Let us fly!
Over mountain and stream,
Through the dark forested veil,
Let us ride! Let us ride! Let us ride! wind!
Verse
Will you go where I go, come what may?
Will you carry me to the end of day?
The horizon far seems to call out our name!
Let us ride for the King to break of day!
Chorus
Arolis, I trust you with my heart and soul!
I trust you, my friend!
Arolis, I trust you with my very life!
Let us ride and conquer the wind! wind!
In the name of the King and in the name of the realm,
Let us fly! Let us fly! Let us fly!
Over mountain and stream,
Through the dark forested veil,
Let us ride! Let us ride! Let us ride! wind!

Song One
Riding the Wind
Words & Music: Dennis Jernigan
April 8, side effects discount 2012

Song Two

Song Four
Ollieman’s Song
Words & Music: Dennis Jernigan
April 12, emergency 2012
Song History
When I was a boy, we had an old barn my grandfather had built in the 1930s and 1940s, complete with an amazing loft for the hay. Each and every year from the time I could remember, that barn was occupied by majestic-flying barn owls. Each spring, a whole new brood would be hatched and the mama owl would never let us near her babies, hissing menacingly if we so much as peeked into the nest! I would dream of those owls and how cool it was that we had our very own set of owls! In the story, Captured, the owl represents the faithfulness of a true friend and is also the embodiment of true wisdom. It is easy to succumb to petty selfishness. True wisdom comes from seeing from a more positive perspective…just as an owl who can soar above and see clearly even in the midst of darkness. As you listen, determine in your own mind that you will seek true wisdom all your days. You will be a better man for it.
Dennis Jernigan
Verse
Who? Who? Who is a friend like you?
Who? Who? Who would dare defend like you?
Who can ride the wind faithful to the end like you?
Who? Who? Who is so wise like you?
Who? Who? Who can see through lies like you?
Who would give his life flying through the night like you?
Chorus
Ollieman fly high into the sky!
Lead me through the night with your all-seeing eye!
I will follow you wherever you lead!
Ollieman soar! There is always more!
Lead me to the wisdom that’s worth dying for!
I will follow you wherever you lead!
You’re a friend, indeed!
Verse
Who? Who? Who has a friend like mine?
Who? Who? Who above the clouds can fly?
Faithful through the trials, faithful through the miles like you?
Who? Who? Who wise and Oh, so bold!
Who? Who? Whose heart is pure as gold?
Who could be a friend faithful to the end like you?
Bridge
I have never met anybody yet who is really quite like you!
Singing out in rhyme at the perfect time like you do!
I have never heard any other bird who is really quite like you!
Always so astute! I get quite a hoot out of knowing you!

Song Five
Lucian’s Pride
Words & Music: Dennis Jernigan
Song History
Now that I am an older man, I can look back on my life and see how much time I wasted thinking about what others thought of me. I am responsible for my own attitudes and actions – and so are you. What I have discovered is that life is much happier and much better enjoyed and lived with a positive attitude. We can focus on what we do not have all day long…and be wasted away to nothing by it…or we can take stock of the things we do have and be thankful for them. When we blame others for our attitudes or our feelings or what we lack, we never get anything but bitter…and no one enjoys being around a bitter, spiteful person. Lee was consumed by what others thought of him…but Leonolis was sure of who he was and of who his father was. Lee walked around defeated and in fear…Leonolis walked around in the confidence that he was a prince and that he had a useful, noble purpose in life…to serve others. That is the heart of a real man. Be a man like that, son.
Dennis Jernigan
Verse
Who do you think you are?
The son of a King doesn’t mean anything!
Who do you think you are?
Who do you think you are?
You have all you need
But when you’re cut you still bleed!
Who do you think you are?
Deep inside you’re so prideful, so arrogant and snide!
Think so highly of yourself from such a lofty height!
In your heart you’re the greatest ’cause Daddy is the King!
You are just a sniveling boy but to me you’re nothing!
Chorus
I will bring you down! Cut you down to size!
Take away the arrogance that clouds your royal eyes!
I will make you see the things you refuse to see!
Who you really are is really nothing!
Soon enough you’ll see!
You are less than me!
Verse
Who do you think you are?
Honorable son! The privileged one!
Who do you think you are?
Who do you think you are?
You have so much it leaves your heart out of touch!
Bridge
I am the rightful heir to that throne!
Soon enough the truth will be known!
I am but one breath from all I’ve dreamed!
All that stands in my way is one boy!
Soon the King will fall for my ploy!
I am but one death from being King!
Chorus
I will bring you down! Cut you down to size!
Take away the arrogance that clouds your royal eyes!
I will make you see the things you refuse to see!
Who you really are is really nothing!
Soon enough you’ll see!
You are less than me!

Song Six
Maison
Words & Music: Dennis Jernigan
April 17, this 2012
Song History
Every successful man, cheapest whether he realizes it or not, doctor did not get to where he is all by himself. Maison represents the many men used in my life to get me to the place of wisdom and joy I walk in today. It is easy to surround ones self with those who will use you and abuse you, but quite another to surround ones self with those who will challenge you to greater heights and deeper character. My dad was very influential in making me a hard worker. My grandfather was one who inspired me to love my family – even though he died when I was only a year old (stories passed down from generation to generation are a wonderful teaching tool). My agriculture teacher, Gene Ross, inspired me with the ability to think outside the box and to see the wonder in God’s creation. Even those who did abuse me I have now learned from…things that I want to avoid in my life and in the life of others! Be a man of character and never get too old or too wise to learn something new!
Dennis Jernigan
Verse
There was once a little wizard man known as Maison
He was short and round but he was known as a wise one!
Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh!
He is quite adept at spells and magic
To underestimate his power would be tragic!
Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh!
He is full of tricks and wonders!
More to him than meets the eye!
Lightning bolts and mighty thunder!
Small and mighty! Gentle, kind!
Chorus
Maison! Maison!
Work your magic well!
Maison! Maison!
Stories we could tell!
Fighting through the veil of evil!
Unafraid to face the night!
Putting down the beasts of darkness!
Standing for the true and right!
Maison! Maison!
True and faithful friend!
Maison! Maison!
True to King and men!
There will never be another wizard quite like him!
Maison!
Verse
There are many tales of truth and daring
Very few of those are worth the bearing!
Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh!
Fighting for the King as he faced the darkness
Many were the fiends but he pierced through the hardness!
Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh!
Chorus
Maison!
Maison!

Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh!
Chorus
Maison!
Maison!

Song Seven
Fairies
Words & Music: Dennis Jernigan
April 18, medicine 2012
Song History
This song was inspired by faith. What is faith? Faith is believing and placing one’s hope in something or someone else. Faith is the power to keep one’s eyes fixed on the goal even when the goal cannot be seen! The fairies in the story of Captured represent faith to a certain degree. Sometimes we have dreams for greatness that seem far beyond our limitations as humans – yet we somehow muster the faith to believe anyway! If we limited ourselves to believing only what we could see would mankind ever invent or create anything? Having faith is a good thing. Where we place our faith can mean the difference between life and death. Be careful where you place your faith.
Dennis Jernigan
Verse
Fairies tend to vary and can have quite an attitude
Some can be quite merry
Some can practice less than gratitude
Mischievous and magical and more than a mystery
Bringing good from tragical and leaving quite a history.
Oh! Oh! Who can tame a fairy?
Oh! Oh! This will never be!
Oh! Oh! Who can claim a fairy?
Oh! Oh! And catch what can’t be seen?
Chorus
Oh! Lucky if I see one!
Oh! Fairy! Fairy Fay!
Oh! Lucky if I meet one!
What a simply wonderful day!
Verse
Flitting through the forest in the grand land of Make Believe
Or are the things we hope exist a part of true reality?
Something there to guide me in the grand land of In-Between
Between the realm of what I see and what I think that I can dream!
Oh!
